Gizelle Money grew up in New York City’s inner-city housing developments, a place where you learned early on that survival took a lot of heart and grit. Wanting to build a different kind of future, she decided to write her own path, one fueled by pure ambition and a refusal to let her surroundings define her limits.
For 17 years, she made a name for herself as a freelance journalist in the tech and gaming industries, diving deep into groundbreaking tech and digital storytelling. But fiction was always the real dream. When she finally stepped away from journalism, she poured everything she had into a year-long journey of handwriting the very first draft of her debut book.
That novel, The Scarred Vein, is an adult epic fantasy born from that raw, exhausting process, inspired by vivid dreams and a lifetime of beating the odds. It’s a story packed with intricate worlds, high-stakes magic, and the kind of intense, emotionally charged relationships that test who you really are.
Today, Gizelle has finished The Scarred Vein and is laying the groundwork for its release, with a target launch set for November 2026.
As a first-generation American Latina, she is driven to break cycles and carve out a permanent space for voices like hers in the epic fantasy genre, proving that dark, high-stakes magical worlds belong to everyone. For her, storytelling isn’t just about escaping; it’s about creating fierce, dangerous universes where characters have to fight for their futures, just like she did.
